And the ad campaign is taking a bold <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Philippe_Halsman\">Philippe Halsman<\/a> approach. Check out the one-sheet:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Descent\" alt=\"Descent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sixsquare.com\/blog\/images\/0606\/descent.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A coworker tells me about this poster yesterday, describing it as a weird, interpretive dance image. Real artsy. One look, of course, and I realize there&#8217;s no interpretive dancing going on here. The art department is channelling this earlier Halsman photo:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Halsman\" alt=\"Halsman\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sixsquare.com\/blog\/images\/0606\/skull.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Very cool, and to its credit, gives away nothing of the film&#8217;s plot. And this isn&#8217;t the first time the image has been used in film art. Remember this image?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Lambs\" alt=\"Lambs\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sixsquare.com\/blog\/images\/0606\/lambs.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>More subtle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixsquare.com\/wordpress\/2006\/03\/12\/the-descent\/\">The Descent<\/a> comes out on August 4th.
