SAndra Collins vs. The Who

Work, work, work, drive, write, write, write, drink coffee. That’s been my schedule this week. So rather than post something insightful, which I usually do on Wednesdays, I’m going to give you a glimpse of the sleek, dirty sound that is Sandra Collins. I shot this with my camera at Coachella this year. I love […]

Reward: Lost Pig

According to Listening Post at Wired Media, the Coachella concert promoters want the pig back. I suspect Roger Waters doesn’t care a whit about it, but Coachella is offering a $10,000 reward for the safe return of the pig. Let the hunt begin.

Coachella Kicks Off

The desert is cooler than last year, and the crowds thinner, which actually makes for a more relaxing festival. I’m too tired to get into detail. I just finished a post for metblogs, however, so go check that out. Link here.

Coachella Schedule

As expected, the Coachella schedule was released today. Time for us all to begin our fretting and planning. As I mentioned, it’s useless for me to actually make any plans. But it’s important to go over these and pick out the conflicts. Right off the bat, I’ve got a biggie. On Saturday. And I knew […]

Ken Lee

Valentina Hasan will NOT be at Coachella this year, though if this viral video keeps spreading, she might have a shot at headlining Bonnaroo. Thanks, jozjozjoz! Follow-up by Tony Pierce at LA Times.

Goldfrapp added to Coachella Lineup

That’s very cool news. Other late additions: Redd Kross, Aphex Twin, Serj Tankian and Brit songstresses Adele and Kate Nash. Click here for complete info.

Coachella Wrap Up

I return from the desert very early Monday morning. The next day I work. And then the day after that, I work. At last, Wednesday, I get to crash. And crash, I do. I completely shut down for the day, dehydrated, lethargic, cranky. It’s not until today that I’m able to sort through the last […]

Coachella Day 3

I’m back in Hollywoodland. Pics and videos of Day 3 coming soon.

Coachella Day 2

The temps get higher, the music gets louder. Today there’s more for me to check out, but most of what I really want to see is in the heat of the day. So I stock up on water and just deal with it. There are some more pics on the Flickr set. And I put […]

No, I’m not blogging yet. But I guess I am, though only to show you a few of the sights and sounds of Coachella 2007. Here’s a link to the Flickr set. Here’s a link to my movie page, with some nifty little clips of Faithless, Benny Benassi and the “Do Lab.” More to come.

Coachella Rumor?

Stereogum reports that yesterday, Golden Voice, the promoters behind the Coachella Music Festival, made a certain number of three day passes available for $200. The discount code, apparently, was ‘Roxanne.’ I know there are no lineup confirmations (though people seem to think David Bowie is dropping in) but with the recent news of the 30-year […]

Coachella @ Flickr

Just a quick update: I’ve begun a Coachella set over at Flickr. Click here to check it out. Many more pics (as well as captions and notes and other good things like that) are on the way.

Weekend of Music

There was this quiet desert town once. It had a Main Street. It was on a major trade route to the west. It was warm and it was peaceful. And above all, it was quiet. This is how it’s gonna look today and tomorrow: I’ll see you on Monday.
